Runnymede Plantation is a beautiful wedding venue overlooking the Ashley River, just past Magnolia Plantation when you are heading North on Ashley River Road. The original plantation house was destroyed by the Union Army during the Civil War, and the home that followed it burned down in 2002- leaving only the brick foundation and chimneys. I have been lucky enough to get to paint on site a few times, and this painting was started in "Plein Air" (outside) and then finished in my studio. I love how much Spanish Moss has taken over this tree, it looked so graceful.
This is an original piece created with oil paint and on a stretched canvas. The sides are painted white and it is signed by Elise. Colors may vary slightly in person and are shipped via UPS from Charleston, South Carolina
